Vira Aheyeva

One of the most prominent contemporary Ukrainian literary critics and gender researchers. Her scholarly works have played a significant role in the development of Ukrainian literary studies, and her public activities in shaping the country's cultural and intellectual life. Aheieva is known for her research in the history of 20th-century Ukrainian literature, particularly Ukrainian modernism. She has created a number of scholarly portraits of writers and shed light on little-known pages of their biographies.
In addition to her academic work, Vira Aheieva is actively involved in public work. She is a co-founder of the Kyiv Institute for Gender Studies, which demonstrates her interest in the development of feminist studies in Ukraine.
