Southern Poems

«Southern Poems» is a unique anthology of classic Ukrainian poetry dedicated to the south of Ukraine.
This collection reveals the multifaceted image of the southern regions through the works of prominent authors: from Lesya Ukrainka's melancholic lyrics and Mykola Zerov's formally perfect poems about Crimean antiquity, to the urban Odesa verses of Mykhail Semenko and Maik Yohansen, and the martial ballads of Yevhen Malaniuk and Yuriy Lypa dedicated to the Kherson steppe.
With this edition, the compilers aim to remind us how diverse the voice of the south can be: lyrical, adventurous, revolutionary, and militaristic. Perhaps you will find a different tone here that speaks directly to a warm memory you hold of these lands.
The text is complemented by vibrant color illustrations by Tetiana Panova, which enhance the atmosphere of the poetic images.
