Collection: Valerian Polishchuk

A prominent figure of Ukrainian literature in the first half of the 20th century. His work is a vivid example of Ukrainian avant-garde. Born in 1897 in the Rivne region. His work covered various genres: poetry, prose, literary criticism, and journalism. Polishchuk was one of the most active representatives of the Ukrainian literary avant-garde of the 1920s. His poetry was characterized by experimentation, the search for new forms and images, and his prose by sharp social criticism. Valerian Polishchuk became a victim of Stalinist repressions. In 1937, he was arrested and executed in Sandarmokh.
