Collection: Valerian Pidmohylyny

A prominent Ukrainian writer, one of the brightest representatives of the "Executed Renaissance". Valerian Pidmohylny was born in the village of Askania-Nova, Kherson Governorate. He received a good education, studying mathematics at university. Literary work for him was not just a hobby, but a calling. Despite his success and recognition, Pidmohylny fell victim to Stalin's repressions. In 1937, he was arrested and shot. His works were banned, and his name was erased from the history of literature.
Only after the collapse of the USSR did Pidmohylny's work begin to return to the reader.
