Mykola Khvyliovyi

One of the brightest and most tragic names in the history of Ukrainian literature. His life and work were closely intertwined with the turbulent events of the early 20th century, and his ideas continue to inspire and provoke debate. He put forward the idea of a "executed renaissance," called for the renewal of Ukrainian literature, and for a departure from Russian influences.
