Collection: Jack Kerouac

One of the most influential and iconic figures in 20th-century American literature, and a central figure of the so-called "Beat Generation." His work is defined by the "spontaneous prose" style, reflecting a rebellious spirit, a craving for freedom, travel, and the search for spiritual meaning in post-war America. Despite the fame, Kerouac struggled to cope with his popularity. His later years were overshadowed by alcoholism and a feeling that his work had been misinterpreted. He died at the age of 47 from an internal hemorrhage caused by chronic liver disease.
