In a remote Croatian village, where time seems to have stood still, people from different corners of the world gather: a lonely Polish professor, a German immigrant, and local residents. Their lives, full of joys and sorrows, intersect at a moment when, far away from them, a real drama unfolds on a football field in Strasbourg.
