The House of Salt

The cause was a war during which a powerful magical artifact was used. It changed the generous lands, causing Flares — transformations of unknown origin that led to contamination with suyer. This mysterious substance causes mutations similar to radiation but significantly more terrifying. For example, a person can grow a tail on their forehead just by getting under the suyer dome over Kimerik. But while there are masks and suits for radiation, nothing can save you from this airborne death.
