The Fool's Dance

Gil is a former military biologist trying to stay clean. His life is falling apart: he has lost his job, is drowning in debt, his marriage is crumbling, and the fear of a hereditary fatal illness hangs over him. When he is offered a place on a closed expedition to the distant and mysterious planet Ish-Ch’el, Gil clings to the opportunity like a last lifeline. The mission seems simple: to study the planet’s flora and fauna ahead of future colonization.
But Ish-Ch’el turns out to be far more than just a new planet. It is a strange and uncanny world that begins to toy with the minds of the colonists. Here, their deepest nightmares come alive, and reality itself starts slipping away. Gil will have to battle not only the unknown monsters of this new world, but also his own descent into madness.
