Roman Shukhevych. The Life of a Legend

Roman Shukhevych, the Commander-in-Chief of the UPA from 1943 to 1950, was not just a prominent figure in the struggle for Ukrainian independence. He embodied the true Ukrainian elite: he came from a respected family, had a brilliant education, was seriously involved in sports and music, and later became a successful businessman.
Shukhevych was a principled enemy of the "red empire." As a flexible tactician and an insightful strategist, he did what has only now become obvious to many in the context of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
This book traces the dramatic life of Roman Shukhevych step by step, revealing first and foremost his extraordinarily interesting and powerful personality.
The book is based on sources, testimonies, and research, as well as little-known memoirs of his contemporaries. Illustrated with unique archival materials, it contains a media supplement with hundreds of photos and documents.
