Red Winter. Trilogy

Red Winter by Annette Marie is a captivating fantasy trilogy inspired by Japanese mythology, where gods, yokai, and mortals exist side by side, and ancient prophecies have the power to change the fate of the entire world. At the heart of the story is Emi, a kamigakari — a young woman destined to become the vessel for Amaterasu, the sun goddess. Her entire life has been devoted to this one duty, but on the eve of the decisive ritual, she saves a wounded yokai — and strikes a dangerous bargain with the enigmatic Shiro.
Together, they embark on a journey through snow-covered shrines, ancient forests, and lands where every legend holds a hidden truth. Emi must discover whom she can trust, confront enemies determined to exploit her power, and choose between the fate decreed by the gods and her right to decide who she will become.
This is a story of sacrifice and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, the strength of the human heart, and a love that blossoms against all the rules. Blending the atmosphere of a Japanese folktale with thrilling adventures, magical battles, and a tender romance, the series is a perfect choice for readers who love fantasy filled with mythology, dangerous alliances, and characters worth rooting for.
