Point Zero

«Point Zero» is a collection of documentary prose by Artem Chekh, a writer and soldier, covering 14 months of his service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2015–2016.
First published in 2017 after a long break in the author's literary career, this book consists of diary entries by a mobilized Kyiv resident. He records everything he sees, filtering each event through the prism of his own experience. Artem Chekh is not a hero, but an ordinary person, with his own fears, anxieties, hopes, and doubts. He realizes that life will never be the same again and that a new reality is coming not only for him but also for his wife and everyone who embarks with him — to the training center, the firing range, the East, to "point zero".
