Opishnya is a place with a rich history dating back to the Neolithic era. It witnessed Cossack settlements and large-scale gunpowder production, which at one time supplied up to 70% of the Russian Empire's needs. However, Opishnya gained its greatest fame from its unique jugs, kumanets (drinking vessels), and plates, as this very settlement is rightfully called the cradle of Ukrainian pottery.
