The fifth year of Harry Potter's studies at Hogwarts begins with unsettling events. Following Lord Voldemort's dramatic return last summer, the Ministry of Magic refuses to believe Harry and Dumbledore, launching a massive smear campaign against them. The wizarding world plunges into uncertainty as dark clouds gather.
In this installment, J.K. Rowling shows how Harry grapples with feelings of loneliness and despair, the adults' dismissal, and his growing anger. He feels isolated while the Dark Lord secretly gathers his followers. In response, Professor Dumbledore revives an ancient secret society — the Order of the Phoenix — to stand against Voldemort.
Hogwarts transforms into a battlefield, where a new, despotic Ministry of Magic professor, Dolores Umbridge, attempts to control every aspect of student life, denying Voldemort's return. Harry and his friends, Ron and Hermione, are forced to act independently, forming a secret student group, «D.A.» (Dumbledore's Army), to learn defensive and combat spells.
This part of the saga is the darkest, exploring themes of loss, doubt, bureaucratic indifference, and the fight for truth. Harry will not only have to confront external enemies but also internal demons, realizing the price of loyalty and the importance of hope even in the darkest of times.
