Seeking peace, Hana travels to her native village on the banks of the Vltava River, where she hasn't been in many years. Her journey is an attempt to reconcile with her past and with the people she has complicated relationships with. She carries with her a list of twelve names – people she needs to talk to in order to free herself from the burden of the past.
Hana confronts painful memories, and it is difficult for her to forgive and ask for forgiveness, but she understands that it is a necessary step for healing. Her journey becomes not only a journey into the past but also a journey of self-discovery. She searches for herself in the vanished world of rural Czechoslovakia of the 1980s, where traditions were destroyed by industrialization and tiny worlds disappeared, leaving only echoes in people's souls.
Will Hana be able to find forgiveness and peace? Will she be able to come to terms with her past and move on?
