When we talk about sex, we are really talking about much more: femininity and motherhood, betrayal and exploitation, consent and respect, justice, love, hatred, pleasure, and pain.
And yet, most women remain silent about their deepest fantasies and fears — they stay locked inside until someone brings the key. Gillian Anderson became that key by gathering 174 anonymous letters from women of different cultures and countries, including her own story, also shared anonymously. Here, the author appears not as a narrator but as a curator of other people’s experiences: she arranges these confessions into thematic sections — tenderness, power, observation, escape, intimacy, taboo. Each letter is a brief fragment from someone else’s soul-diary, where passion is accompanied by loneliness, fear, and the need to be seen or understood.
