Jurki Vainonen

A contemporary Finnish prose writer and translator. He is often called the "Finnish Kafka" due to his surreal style and ability to create an atmosphere of absurdity and unease in his works. Vainonen headed the Writers' Union of Finland, which testifies to his high authority in literary circles.
