Panteleimon Kulish

A towering figure in Ukrainian literature, he was a writer, historian, folklorist, linguist, and public activist. As a member of the Brotherhood of Saints Cyril and Methodius, Kulish was at the forefront of the Ukrainian national revival. He was one of the first to write fiction in Ukrainian and was instrumental in the establishment of Ukrainian schools, publishing houses, and other cultural institutions.
