Collection: Oleh Olzhych
One of the most prominent figures of 20th-century Ukrainian literature. Born into the family of writer Oleksandr Oles, he received a classical humanities education, studying history and philosophy. He was an active participant in the Ukrainian national liberation movement and worked on the Ukrainian National Committee. Olzhych's poetry is a kind of literary manifesto of the Ukrainian national spirit. He died in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1944.
