Collection: Homer

A legendary ancient Greek poet, Homer is credited with authoring the two most significant epic poems in world literature: the Iliad and the Odyssey. Although little is known about Homer himself, his works have had a profound impact on the development of European culture, literature, and thought, more so than any other author. The Homeric epics are considered the foundation of Western literature. Many later authors, from Virgil to Joyce, have drawn inspiration from Homer's works.
