Where There Is No God

Humans are social beings. Cooperation, understanding, and justice are the foundations of any society. But do these concepts disappear when a person finds themselves on the verge of life and death, outside the boundaries of their usual social environment?
The novel «Where There Is No God» explores this topic, introducing us to five characters whose fates are intertwined on board flight 341. A Ukrainian woman, driven to despair, carries a large sum of money with her, ignoring calls from her husband. A Russian pilot struggles with aerophobia after the tragic death of his lover in the MH17 crash. A famous Bavarian politician, at the height of his career, realizes that he hates his job. An American National Football League player's life is turned upside down after a single failed play. A secret papal cardinal travels to a country where the Catholic Church is officially banned.

What unites these people with such different fates? Only flight 341, which becomes a test of their strength and a test of human values.
The author of the novel, Max Kidruk, asks tough questions: Is there something in a person that prevents them from turning into a beast when the boundaries of morality and ordinary life disappear? Is there a place for faith and humanity in a place where, it seems, only fear and chaos reign?
