Passage

The characters in Yulia Batkilyna's works are ordinary Ukrainians living in a turbulent time of great change. They include participants in a conversation club where they practice their Ukrainian language skills, as well as an employee of a small company who is going through a difficult period both at home and at work.
All of them are different people — with their own problems, pain and anxieties. Their paths cross at a moment when the traffic light of life suddenly changes from green to red and then to yellow. This gives them time to stop, look around and rethink their path. It is a time for making important decisions. Each of them has to make a choice about their future: language, relationships, political position or freedom. And, most importantly, they need to keep moving forward, even though most people don't notice the changes.
