The night before Christmas. Vii. Old world heirs

The translation of three works of Mykola Vasilievich Gogol - " The Night Before Christmas " , " Vii " and " Old World Ladies " was updated using the author's original manuscripts. It is much more accurate than previous translations, which usually forgot the differences between the Ukrainian and Russian languages ​​and used many Russian words. In addition, the original passages were restored in the translation, deleted by the author after he was criticized for the fact that too many fantastic creatures appear in the works. The well-known works of this still controversial Ukrainian writer transport readers to the mysterious mythological and sometimes terrifying world of Ukrainian demonology intertwined with traditions. Sometimes these stories make you laugh, and sometimes you tremble with fear, but they do not leave anyone indifferent .
