This book presents well-known works by the distinguished Ukrainian playwright Ivan Karpenko-Karyi, such as the comedies «Martin Borulyа», «The Master», and «One Hundred Thousand». These works depict conflicts between social classes, as well as the life of the rural bourgeoisie and Cossacks in Ukraine in the second half of the 19th century. Although written quite some time ago, these comedies still hold great value and are a pride of the national theatrical culture.
