I See You're Interested in Darkness

«I See You're Interested in Darkness» is a crime novel with elements of mystery by Ukrainian writer Ilarion Pavlyuk, published in 2020. The novel tells the story of the disappearance of children in a small village in western Ukraine.

The protagonist of the novel, a Kiev criminal psychologist, arrives in the village of Buskiv Sad to help the local police investigate the disappearances, and quickly realizes that fear and indifference reign in the village. People do not want to talk about what is happening, and they blame the disappearances on the Beast, a serial maniac who is said to be roaming the village. The protagonist does not believe in the existence of the Beast. He believes that the disappearances have a different explanation, and he begins his investigation. Along the way, the man learns about the dark sides of the village that no one wants to talk about.

This is a gripping story about the fight against evil and about how darkness can be hidden even in the brightest places.
