Following the events of the first book, Thorn, the daughter of King Yarvi, finds herself in a difficult situation. Her father's intrigues, as a powerful ruler, catch up with her. Eager to prove her strength and independence, she decides to go against her father's will and prove that she is worthy of being a warrior in a society that does not accept female warriors. Due to an unfortunate accident, the girl gets a chance to go on a dangerous campaign that will test her skills and determination. Young, ambitious, and rebellious, she strives to prove her worth in a male-dominated society that does not see women as equals. Along the way, she realizes that not everything sung in heroic songs is true. Thorn encounters the harsh reality of war, political intrigue, and betrayal. Throughout the journey, the girl changes and grows as a person. She learns to overcome her fears, make difficult decisions, and fight for what she believes is right.
