I peer intently in your eyes

A collection of poems by Vasyl Symonenko, a Ukrainian poet in his sixties, whose poems were banned by Soviet censorship and were therefore distributed by handwritten transcription. Without exaggeration, Symonenko has become a cult figure in the Ukrainian social and artistic movement, his poems speak to us now through generations and will be relevant and alive until the Ukrainian people remember: "My people are! My people will always be there! No one will cross out my people!..”
