What are Eva's parents doing all summer in southern Ukraine? It turns out they are not just relaxing, but also exploring the ancient past! With the help of a shovel and a brush, they search for evidence of bygone eras underground: pottery fragments, ancient coins, weapons, and other artifacts.
What treasure do they dream of finding? Perhaps they will be lucky enough to unearth a Scythian pectoral – an exquisite gold ornament that testifies to the skill of ancient jewelers.
And what about Eva? She does not just observe her parents' work, but also takes an active part in the excavations. She learns how to properly clear the soil, describe finds, and keep a field diary.
