«Bullets for Execution» is a call to remember and honor the victims of Stalinist repression. This book compels readers to reflect on the value of freedom, truth, and human life. In the spring of 1930, a high-profile trial of members of the «Union for the Liberation of Ukraine» took place in Kharkiv. Among the accused were leading Ukrainian writers, scientists, and public figures. They were charged with anti-Soviet activities and sentenced to long prison terms. Gely Snegiryov, after analyzing a vast amount of archival materials, proves that this was a fabrication created by the NKVD to carry out repressions; the testimonies were falsified, and the confessions were extracted under torture. The author provides a detailed analysis of court materials, testimonies, and other documents, proving that the accusations against the Union for the Liberation of Ukraine members were baseless. For this, the author paid with his health and ultimately his life. The book helps to restore the good memory of the innocent Ukrainian intellectuals.
