Language of War. Chronicles of The Invasion

Olexander Mikhed began writing the book «Language of War. Chronicles of the invasion» on the first day of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. He worked on it for 13 months, telling about his personal experiences, as well as about what other Ukrainians experienced during the war.

Mikhed's book is not just his personal diary. It is a kind of collection of thoughts and experiences of many Ukrainians who experienced terrible losses in the first year of the war.
The author talks about how our everyday language has changed, how familiar things have become painful triggers, and how certain feelings and emotions we want to forget, but at the same time remember forever. Mikhed also reflects on how the invasion has affected Ukrainian children and future generations. He asks questions: how do we lose our closest friends and homes? How are Ukrainian children changing and what post-memory will the next generation have? In the end, who is each of us in this war?

Mikhed's book is an important documentary testimony of the war in Ukraine. It helps us understand how this war has changed Ukraine and its people.
