Mykhailo Hrushevsky

A world-renowned historian and political figure who dedicated his life to the struggle for an independent Ukraine. He is the author of the monumental work «History of Ukraine-Rus» which remains one of the most comprehensive studies of Ukrainian history. In addition to his academic pursuits, Hrushevsky was actively involved in politics. He was one of the leaders of the Ukrainian national movement, headed the Ukrainian Central Rada, and proclaimed the independence of the Ukrainian People's Republic.
